Term 3 Playgroup at Lakewood Family and Chuild Centre Playgroup will commence at 9.30am and conclude at 11.15am. Parking is available onsite, as are toilets, change room facilities, and basic kitchen facilities ( BYO tea/coffee/milk).  This will be a group run playgroup so we kindly ask everyone helps where possible with set up and pack away. Lakewood Centre asks that we leave the room as we found it, floors are given a quick vacuum after we have used the room and any spills/messes are cleaned up. Nappies need to be taken home or placed in the outside bins. If we use the outdoor space, sandpit needs to be covered up after use, toys packed neatly away into the shed, excess sand swept away etc  For Term 3, Playgroup will run on the following dates; Thursday 18th July Thursday 1st August Thursday 15th August Thursday 29th August Thursday 12th September Bring gumboots and suitable outdoor clothing if your child wishes to go outside!  BYO snacks and we ask for a gold coin donation to go towards the room hire cost and resources. This innovative course is designed for new and expectant parents and is delivered in partnership with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE). Our educators will guide parents through an interactive and engaging paediatric first aid training session, followed by education and evidence-based resources that will help Mums and Dads build their support networks and look after their own emotional wellbeing throughout pregnancy and early parenthood too. Some of the topics we will cover in this 4 hour course include: Infant and child CPR Burns Choking Drowning Allergies Fractures Head injuries Bleeding Fevers Poisoning Bites & Stings Asthma & Croup The Transition to Parenthood Emotional Wellbeing Understanding Depression & Anxiety Community Resources & Support for Mums and Dads And more Babies and breastfeeding are welcome at all of our sessions. Parents can practice their new skills and there will be time for questions too!  Please register each person attending (eg both members of a couple if you are both coming). With the length of the session it is not suitable for toddlers to come along.
